After leaving a global top tier investment bank, and joining a 100 person automated trading company, I have had some thoughts.

  1. Big banks have endless procedures needed to follow vs. finding the fastest way to get things done
  2. Big banks don’t care about what employers did vs. every piece of work is acknowledged and appreciated
  3. Big banks don’t care about who the employees are vs. everyone knows each other
  4. Big banks have large training sessions vs. 10+ one on one training sessions
  5. Big banks have many hierarchies vs. CEO comes to you often for any favor or questions
  6. Big banks have experts in almost every field vs. needing to self study all the fields crossed
  7. Big banks don’t promote people often vs. giving you a career path to choose and do projects on
